It's confirmed - The Prodigy's new album will be out on March 2nd 2009, and will be called Invaders Must Die. It's coming out on their own Take Me To The Hospital imprint, with a little help from Cooking Vinyl, and is said to combine "old skool rave noise with the stratospheric limits of new technology."

And more good news - they've announced a huge UK arena tour to follow the release, with Dizzee Rascal supporting on all dates.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday 7th November. Put it in your diary!

Tour Dates:

APRIL
5th – Cardiff International Arena
6th – Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
7th – Glasgow SECC
9th – Birmingham NIA
10th – Manchester MEN Arena
11th – Nottingham Trent FM Arena
13th – Sheffield Arena
14th – Brighton Centre
17th – London Wembley Arena

Im tempted to head to either nottingham or wembley :)

I have a feeling the new album is going to be a corker, ive heard 4 new tracks and they are all ace

Liam's Blog Entry:

Liam Howlett wrote:THE ALBUM IS DONE. we r all so buzzed about it . it is called INVADERS MUST DIE as you probably know by now ! .11 tracks. its a band album mostly so we can play all the tunes live if we want. didnt want to have any guest vocalists on this record even though we did do 3 collabs but they didnt feel part of this record -- they may come out later. dave grohl plays on run with the wolves, what a top lad he is . he approached me and we pulled that tune out the bag at last minute, fast ferocious tune with evil big electronic riff with keef on vocals. i also got james from 'does it offend yo yeah' in to do a bit of additional production on a couple of tunes .i met him at gatecrasher and he basically told me he was a fan and had been trying to rip of my sound for years , fukin hilarious . geezer ,great to work with. warriors dance is on there sounding massive in its final form . got lots of other beats and pieces left over including a couple of live tunes i know people buzz off so the plan is to put that shit onto an additional disc that will be part of a box set or deluxe -not sure yet but those beats that didnt make the main album need to break out .
seee ya LLLLL. HHHH

Awesome

*edit* just realised i had an email from the prodigy website with a link for pre-release tickets, so i bagged some for the nottingham gig, plus pre-ordered a signed copy of the album :)

It's a bit disappointing that they've gone for the MEN Arena rather than the Apollo in Manchester. The Apollo is a way better venue IMO.

True, but you're more likely to get a £5 last minute ticket from a tout outside the MEN than the Apollo. The MEN is a fucking shite venue but so are most arenas. And they were shit last time I saw them at the Apollo. Played the whole gig from a DAT.
