I'm thinking of going to reading to see rage against the machine. thats all really. The reading line-up isn't half bad, but the people who attend aren't the greatest.

The Download bill is really annoyingly weak this year. I live within 10 miles of Donington Park and after just going for the Sunday last year and really enjoying it, I was determined to do the whole weekend this time, but I just don't think there's enough there to justify it and that's with me not being your typical thirtysomething rocker who automatically turns their noses up at DaKidzMuzik (hell, I even bought a CD by that Penis! At The Dickshaft band once). Mind you, I've never seen Motörhead, Priest, Offspring or Dillinger Escape Plan so I'll probably relent at the last minute if I can afford it. Should be interesting to see what Max and Igor Cavalera'[s new band is like, too.
I've got feelings of anxiety, me.

I went to reading in 1999:

http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~madei ... viewed.htm

AWESOME weekend, so much dance music chucked in amongst rock bands, it kicked ass.
Atari Teenage Riot, Pitchshifter, Breakbeat Era, Chemical Brothers, Apollo 440, Les Rhythmes Digitales.. fantatsic.
Oh yeah, i also some "guitar" music - Chilli Peppers, Feeder, Offspring, 3 colours red and Terrorvision spring to mind.

I would go back to Reading to see RATM - always wanted to catch them live.Theres enough diversity at the festival to keep me entertained for a weekend. I think i would hate download - im not into metal enough to enjoy the experience.

Arn't reading and leeds full of 15 year olds away from home for the first time getting very drunk and acting knobs? I've never been but these are the reports I've heard. Although if you listened to people on this bored the only good festivals are glade and most of them don't even seem to enamoured with that any more.

It seems a little harsh to tar it with that brush, but it is almost true. I remember I was one once, though not a complete cock piece, it seems to get worse every year. Or atleast it did for me a few years ago. Defo a cool festival though, but v coporate and v expensive.
Wanna see RATM.

I'll take that as a yes, the only people I've known who have gone and enjoyed it have either been 16 or a total cock whos opinions arn't worth takeing into consideration.

And I've never been particualy enamoured with rage, everyone seems to think their better then a blowjob and while I like quite a bit of their music I don't rate them nearly that highly.

For me its the fact that I loved them so much when I was younger, and they hold a special place in my heart. I was a bit too young to love them at their peak, but would love to see them live.

rage, never seen them and really want to. Seen 'pusher twice, once being that awful slot at reading which was just him shouting at the sound guy.

as much as i love pusher it would be rage as ive seen pusher twice & rage never.
has pusher played twice then?
it was just before ultravisitor came out he cancelled, i think that was his reason, still making it.

They release another batch of tickets near the time, but if you want cheap weekend tickets just go up on the Day, the Touts are always selling them for less than face value.

How would you tell???? One fucking bassline sounds pretty much the same as the last, I don't think I've ever heard them use more then two drum beats and they certainly never seem to want to do anything as adventureous as use a new synth sound.
