Reality Checkpoint

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. It's 16-19 July 2009, get those dates in your diary.

Reality Checkpoint

Anyone from that camp/see it? I had a good "ALAAAN!" match with those guys (i think..or someone camped near them) by inspiral - they had the funniest little gazebo thing though..making it out of foil and bendy tent sticks..so precarious!

Shame not more people joined in the Alan'ing - but it was comforting that others nearby understood it :D

That was us!

I made the flag in 2006 out of a bed sheet and some stick-on vinyl lettering. I really didn't expect it to still be in one piece three festivals later.

The Reality Checkpoint is a well known lamp post in Cambridge. We hoped to get a more substantial Cambridge camp going but I think everyone else is too lazy to walk that far down the site. :)

It managed to stay up all weekend as well, which I wasn't really expecting. Those emergency blanket things are a lot tougher than you might think.

It did have a bit of a tendency to flap around when the wind got up ... and the constant crinkling and crackling made it quite hard to sleep so we'll be coming up with a different design for next year.

It kept the rain off on Friday though, so we always had a dry place to sit - well worth the time it took to build!

Aww brilliant guys :) I have to admit it was a mighty creation and we did take verbal bets on whether it may be in the tree come the morning  Looked fun though!

Left: Graham. Middle: John "SleeperService" Techno. Right: Ed and Ed's mate. Out of shot: Goat Poison.

PS, Goat Poison. Maybe it's due to my being on my seventh can of Skol (don't laugh, it's 90p for 4 cans in Tesco) or maybe because it's I'm such a total Luddite; either way I dunno how to get that image to show on here. Can you sort it?
