Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. Now based at a stately home in Norfolk.

In previous years, how long has it taken to queue to get in etc?

You will absolutely 100% have to take EVERYTHING out of your bag and re-pack it. Last year took about an hour with a fairly shortish queue. They might start skipping a few people at busy times but apparently not. Matterly was funny, they would allow in 100 people without a search, and then randomly fingertip search 10 down to their boxer shorts waistband and removing batteries from cameras.

I've been bag-emptied every year since 2005 - Thankfully they didn't find anything dodgy but that was the last time I put anything dodgy in my bag :D

Contraband is basically as follows but down to security discretion:

An hour isn't too bad, I can live with that. I'll just drink a decent amount on the train up there.

On the same token, hearing about the intensity of personal searches means that I'll have to leave the smack at home along with my archery equipment and fireworks collection. This weekend is ruined. :x

It should be stated on the leaflet you got with your tickets anyway.

Limited alcohol may be brought onto the site on first entry only- 12 cans of beer / larger / cider OR 6 cans and 1 bottle of wine (decanted into a plastic container)- NO spirits / hard liquor.

Not if you wrap it in a card and gaffer tape sheath. They've never found mine :fear:

Personal story from last year.

I arrived on site around 12:30pm thursday, no queues. I was fully laden with EVERYTHING I needed for the festival (I hate going back to the car for anything even though this wasnt much of a walk).

Security were friendly, they asked if I was carrying anything I shouldnt be and if I had any alcohol. I showed them my personal allowance which they were happy with, and they searched through a number of my bags before waving me through.

It was a *fairly* thorough search, but not completely thorough.....

It used to be that you could only bring it in on the Thursday but they seem to have relaxed that now.
