Personally I'm not into breaks or psy-trance, but I know there will be enough techno to keep me stomping about for the entire weekend 8)

This will be me for 48 hours solid :panic: :D :D

Theres barely any techno compared to the psytrance, breaks and overkill stuff even though techno is more underground. There never seems to be any decent techno festivals in the UK!

overkill.....? less underground than techno?????? techno gets played in the overkill..... i see more chav scum on a night out listening to techno than i do going to a breakcore night. techno has too many 'scene' kids that dont even know what the scene is.

Really? When? I dont recognise any techno DJ's in the overkill tent apart from CJ Bolland and i doubt he's playin techno! And as for the comment on techno, thats bollox! I lived in Bristol for a year n i barely saw any techno nites compared to the amount of breakcore, dubstep n drum n bass nites and its the same all over the country! Theres barely any techno nites anymore compared to wat there used to be! And as for scene kids in techno, wat u on about? it seems to b the latest fashion to b into breakcore n dubstep! Im not dissin the music cuz i do like it, but the fact the overkill tent is on all day friday, saturday through to the early hours n on sunday n the vapour stage is only on the friday n saturday nite just proves my point!

yeh true that, 2 b fair tho u can neva av enuf techno. also tho, the artists that are playing are all propa legends, - mills, surgeon, ben sims, billy nasty, mark broom, jim masters... and then you've got all the ridiculously good minimal and glitchyer kinda stuff in sancho panza and dotted over a cuple of the other stages so cant complain really.. know what your saying tho, Adam Beyer for me would go down a treat, or maybe Roland the bastard or chris Liberator, oh well, i reckon we shall be sufficiently satisfyed on the techno front.

Totally agree wiv u, not into minimal but the DJ's who r playing are techno legends! Jeff Mills is always amazing and surgeon is always good to here n i havnt heard him in frequency 7 yet. Its quite mad he lives down the road from me, lol! A bit of acid techno wudnt of gone a miss either. goin to shamania in august which will hav acid techno whichll suffice me tho.

When Voodoo in Liverpool was at its peak, they would have Clarke, DJ Rush, Speedy J etc etc on...there would always be a load of lads in trackies tucked into their socks and no shirts on down at the front, but they were all there for the same reason as the rest of us, to have a rave to some good quality music, there was never any trouble.

I think with 'proper' techno (i.e. not this market saturating minimal stuff) there is a different vibe, everyone's just there to dance their backsides off...anyway it will be ace at Glade 8)

look mate dont get touchy, i've been into breakcore a long time now, i also write Acid techno and classical dubbish shit and it is my love (all music),
there isn't enough techno in bristol but if you had read what i had written i never mentioned the word BRISTOL DID I?

i have been to techno nights and watched fights, the same goes for breakcore. I dont give a FLYING fuck about fashion in music, so i'll shock alot of you and say yes venetian snares is a kind of man god, but also i think alot of his work is fucking shit. SAME GOES FOR ALL TYPES AND ARTISTS. WHOOP WHOOP more artists we can go see that will play the same shit same shit same shit, bring on the ones i've never heard before coz i'll dance harder than i ever did

i think the whole music thing needs to get out of london and visit some of us less fortunate.

if u notice i titled this thread 'techno fiends' so i think its safe to say that people are going to be discussing mainly techno in this thread. also no1 is wingeing about other styles, just makinga point, and infact i think u'll find i actually said im wel into breakcore and dubstep aswell...not wingeing about anything. and of course iv seen trouble at nights out i just think ur wrong to generalise all techno nights as been full of chavs n scene kids, just not true is it.

Hey i like breakcore, psytrance, dubstep, techno etc n iv seen trouble at all kinds of nites. I only mentioned bristol cuz thats where it says ur from. its u who sed that that techno has "scene kids" when its the same for all types! The music scence in london is well good compared to the rest of the country i totally agree n it be wicked if it was like that all over the country!

My original point was there wasnt enough techno at glade compared to the rest of the types of music thats on. Im not pin pointing one type of music.
