Techno Fiends

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. Feedback thread.

look mate dont get touchy, i've been into breakcore a long time now, i also write Acid techno and classical dubbish shit and it is my love (all music),
there isn't enough techno in bristol but if you had read what i had written i never mentioned the word BRISTOL DID I?

i have been to techno nights and watched fights, the same goes for breakcore. I dont give a FLYING fuck about fashion in music, so i'll shock alot of you and say yes venetian snares is a kind of man god, but also i think alot of his work is fucking shit. SAME GOES FOR ALL TYPES AND ARTISTS. WHOOP WHOOP more artists we can go see that will play the same shit same shit same shit, bring on the ones i've never heard before coz i'll dance harder than i ever did

i think the whole music thing needs to get out of london and visit some of us less fortunate.

if u notice i titled this thread 'techno fiends' so i think its safe to say that people are going to be discussing mainly techno in this thread. also no1 is wingeing about other styles, just makinga point, and infact i think u'll find i actually said im wel into breakcore and dubstep aswell...not wingeing about anything. and of course iv seen trouble at nights out i just think ur wrong to generalise all techno nights as been full of chavs n scene kids, just not true is it.

Hey i like breakcore, psytrance, dubstep, techno etc n iv seen trouble at all kinds of nites. I only mentioned bristol cuz thats where it says ur from. its u who sed that that techno has "scene kids" when its the same for all types! The music scence in london is well good compared to the rest of the country i totally agree n it be wicked if it was like that all over the country!

My original point was there wasnt enough techno at glade compared to the rest of the types of music thats on. Im not pin pointing one type of music.

I personally think that we're very lucky with the Techno line up this year. I think the organisers have listened to the comments over the past few years and delivered the goods with the cream of UK techno headlining on the Vapor Stage. For me, Ben Sims is the ManGod in attendance this year!

I think that there is enough Techno to deliver a high level of satisfaction as well! Two high quality late night poundathons should just about hit the switch!

I can understand that people might want more but of a certain type of techno but Glade is more about the diversity of music and being able to experiment with different sounds over the course of the weekend. There are plenty of festivals on offer with a constant flow of relentless pounders just a short hop on the plane away. That Awakenfest has just been on over in Amsterdam. If it's a constant stream of ear bleeders that is needed then this may have been more your cup of tea! (I wish I could of gone!)

I'm gonna be firmly plonked down the front of the Vapor stage for the duration of its opening on both nights and with the addition of Billy Nasty, Godfather and Vitalic over the weekend the techno box has a big fat tick in it!

For all you techno clubbers there are a few noteworthy nights out there that may be of interest if you haven't yet sampled their delights. Locked, Motor and Sequence in Manchester and Detached in Leeds all offering Proper Techno on a monthly basis.
I think Atomic Jam is due to start again this summer in Birmingham and I'm not sure about Liverpool but I'm sure Alcatraz and Rehab are still simmering away nicely.

Spoke to a mate of mine who's just got back from Glasto and he says that Mark Broom played an absolute blinder on the main stage! There were reports of him playing up to 4 sets over the course of the weekend as well so I think we're in for a treat from this UK techno stalwart!

Happy Days! Looking forward to catching you all front and centre for a vapor stage pound off! :panic: :wackyhat:

Mate Atomic Jam has never stopped, its just they dont do monthly's like they did 4 years ago. The last one was in February at the custard factory plus they did a vs with the Techno Experiment a couple of months ago. Trust me I know the guys who run it and I havnt missed one in a long time. Next one is in September/October when they return to the Que for the first time since its been reopened for the Birthday, gonna be ace!

Very true actually. I was out at Sequence the last time the Jam was on at the Custard Factory and hooked up with a load of people who went to it afterwards.
I met the organisers at a bit of an afterhours when they had the techno experiment one up in Manchester as well!
I stand corrected.

What I'm hoping for is a return to the line ups that make it worthwhile organising a coach down from Manchester for it. Like that night when Ben Sims and Dave Clarke played in the swimming pool at the custard factory! Absolute Minter!

Looking forward to the release of the Que Club line up although I haven't actually checked to see if it is out yet.

Tobias Schmidt (Overkill) plays techno and I reckon you've probably seen him at the HOG. He's on the right of this picture.

Along with a few of the live bands on the main stage and liquid, the techno is definately what im looking forward to most this year. cant wait to see dubfire again and the night time for me is going to be spent more or less exclusively in vapour with the occasional dash to overkill to catch the likes of autechre and a couple of the bangface/japan invasion artists. Can't wait!

Predicted clash though: autechre and jeff mills. That would probably be the hardest decision of the weekend... :(

<3 techno, although not the sorts they mainly play at glade. more into acid techno, hard techno and tek but as long as its got that filthy rolling techno kick then im generally up for it. this year im going to wander a bit more round each arena (except on the friday when ill be firmly planted in the overkill 8) ) and ive made a pact with myself to spend more time in the other tents.

Likewise. Family groove style. Acidtechno, Hardtechno, Hardtek and Schranz.
I would adore to see crystal distrotion playing at a festival.

However vapour lineup looks good also, just a bit softer than i'm used to.

jeff fucken mills!

no doubt he's gonna clash with autechre, as well for being the streamlined techno business in the vapor tent, the music on show in the overkill will take stompin techno to more exciting and experimental levels..tobias schmidt, luke's anger, ben pest, dj godfather, hellfish, bong ra...obvisously all branchin off into their own wee vibe, but its all for the same cause

i cant fucken wait for this shit, glade is gonna go off this year :upyours:

Just an observation that techno fiends seem to abbreviate a lot more than others.

Even people who don't usually abbreviate are doing it in this thread!
