The tent pole climber (was Unbelievable wanker)

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. Glade 2009 FAQ.

Yeah, you do sound a bit scrooge-like, OP. Over 25's only? Gash.

That said, the horns were pretty retarded. The rave equivalent of shouting "Bollocks!" all night.

OK, but then they are fair game for people to turn the tables and toot horns when they are asleep later.

Honestly, who acts like that?! I only hope that security threw her straight out of the festival on her ass into a pile of mud. This stupid girl could have killed someone if she fell. She was already nicked by security while trying to do it during Dubfire. Why didn’t they kick her out then?????

This was my fourth Glade and although the music was sensational I really noticed far more idiots than in previous years. People having yelling matches with each other and playing shitty tinny radios in the wee hours of the morning and becoming wildly aggresive and rude when asked if they could keep the noise down. Not to mention the wankers walking around the dancefloors blowing horns all the time. If the song was meant to have a horn in it there would be a trumpet player on stage. There were loads of people there who seemed to have no interest in music but just wanted to get fucked up on drugs. I’m usually tolerant about this stuff but the Glade used to be known for attracting people with good social skills, now it’s more like the Reading Festival of dance music.

Can the Glade introduce a 25 and over policy or at least get some ‘take no shit’ security that boots people out on their asses if they act like dickheads?

Love and kisses,
Polarbare

P.S. Jeff Mills, wow. Wow.

Stick a fork in it mofo.

I agree with the Jeff Mills though...

We had alot of screaming "jimmy" or "timmy"??? But we just joined in. Thought everyone was super lovely this year and anyone was being a bit twatish you just have to laugh at them cause weve all been there at some point.

People complaining at noise at night is bloomin ridiculous though. If you want quiet camping, go to quiet camping and dont get my mates sound-system confiscated ya nasty people!!!

Was my second and best year and I have all the lovely people that I met to thank for that.

I think it would have been Timmy. :)

But to be fair to Polarbare, I don't think this is the kind of thing he was on about (if it was, then he's definitely at the wrong festival). I think he's on about the Fuck You, I've Paid My Money And I'll Do What I Fucking Well Please, You Fucking Cunt mentality of a small minority. If you encountered it, it was a far cry from the tradition of PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity and Respect), which the festival had plenty of in the first couple of years.

But then again, coming out with that line about banning under-25s is hardly doing himself any favours...

I did experience two chav types with tracksuits tucked into socks on one occasion in the Sancho Panza being a bit loud, but that's all I saw in terms of wankerishness. Previous Glade's have been slightly more wanker free though!

Hi,

I agree on the idiots comments, and indeed, usually first time festival goers having a binge drug issue are a total pain. Not sure if it getting worst, I remember group of kids being completely on their head with balloon and booze on Thursday afternoon (yes, their was nothing on....) 2 years ago, and the years before...
The binge drinking/drug issue is, as usual, a typical UK issue... sounds like Britain, Britain, Britain, really has a problem (look at how young Brits are viewed in Greeks resorts (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/ju ... andalcohol))....
Not sure on how to resolve a global cultural issue, in 3 days at Glade... the best solution might be to try to live with it, even if I would support a bit less tolerance from security.... or go to festivals abroad (never seen such attitude either in Germany (Vuuv) or Portugal (Boom, Freedom), even with a more tolerant drug policy and far less problem....).

I generally find the campsite shouting and silliness hilarious, maybe I'm immature. And I'm 25. *shrug*

If anyone would like to 100% guarantee a good night's sleep next year, may I recommend you hunt me down on Thursday and speak to me about ensuring a good night's sleep.

That is all I will say on the matter :fear:

Nice pic. I dunno what everyones complaining about to be fair, people climbed those poles last year and without any decent cause to back it up, at least this women had a cause. And to all of those people who didn't have a clue what the flag was, WAKE THE FUCK UP.

Yea isn't wank just slang for masturbate, which women can and frequently do (or in my head anyway) enjoy doing.
