Too much dubstep!!!

Glade Festival is Britain's biggest and best non-corporate electronic dance music festival, with a proper havin' it vibe. It's 16-19 July 2009, get those dates in your diary.

Too much dubstep!!!

Was anyone else wound up by the amount dubstep at this years festival?? The overkill tent is meant for fuckin' avein it and experimental music not the fucking wobbleing ketted army. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy some of the dubstep but it there was just waaaaay too much of it. 3/4 acts would've done the job not alll the fucking time!

Completely agree with this. If there's such a high demand for it give it it's own fookin' tent next time!

I do understand your point here but I do also think Dubstep when done properly (eg Ital Tek, Caspa & Rusco)
is properly wicked and you can proper go for it but as for being in Overkill all the time is a little disappointing its not really the cutting edge anymore is it, maybe it was a little last year..?

Dubstep tent however may well be a good idea for next year, only a small one but nice and loud
Glade 2008 is here 1st proper festival of the year!!

Yeah there was too much, but as said, the big dubstep acts did rinse it :)

Indeed Ital Tek's set was fucking huge (I saw him in the overkill watching clark and told him so :) ) I'm not saying no dubstep at all I'm saying play less of it. (or give it it's own tent) but when I wanna go for some properly rinseing music I don't want to wait 4 hours for the overkill to stop playing ketstep and play some real music.

Agreed, having its own smaller tent would be spot on

Too much wobbly / normal dubstep .

Need some more interesting dubstep artists like 2562, Martyn, Peverelist, IMHO .

PUT A DONK ON IT

but yeah, too much chumpstep :fear:

i dont mind it, for 30 mins or so, but once youve heard the classics 4 times in 4 hours by 4 different djs its bit geigh.
i avoided the dubstep djs as i knew what they would play, but some djs that never play it did play some dubstep - well anooying as you couldnt escape it, the only time i knew i was safe was the 6 hours bangface hosted on friday

a likkle solution from me - next year, seperate the glade and vapour tents again, and have vapour play dubstep in the day and techno (MORE THAN 4 HOURS PLS) in the late evening

dubstep is so big it needs its own tent now, at one point dubstep was played in 3 sepeate tents at the same time!

MAKE IT END

Ital Tek was awesome. An hour of genius. The soundsystem in Liquid was awesome, and so were the bubbles.

Mark Iration and Caspa and Rusko were great.

However, i wanted to dance like a lunatic on sunday evening and there was nowhere to bosh properly, so i ended up watching people get married instead. Previously, glade has finished with the likes of Richie Hawtin and Squarepusher.

Big bad-ass sounds on sunday next year please

Yeah def agree. Although i certainly did have some epic moment listening to some awesome dubstep (caspa and rusko 8) ) at times there was just too much. It was overpopulating the overkill, breaksday AND liquid tent...
Next year i reckon there should be a tent dedicated to dubstep during the day which should then turn into vapour at night. That would work perfectly IMO.

The only dubstep i caught was Iration Steppas and Tayo and both of these pulled it out of the bag for me. Tayo more so than IS, his set was something else.
