Postby charliebrown » 05 Mar 2008, 12:38

Got some issues need help with here...

I really want to go to Glade this year and i've got the money to go and everything but no way of transport. I live in mid wales so it is abit of a way. I know i could ask my m8s but most of them wont go couse either they dont wanna drive or they havent got the money.

Any advice?

Charlotte, first of all welcome to the board. :)

Second, are you sure public transport isn't an option for you? How far is your nearest train station? There is a train station near Glade called Thatcham, from which there will be a shuttle bus service.

If you still feel you can't do it by train, we'll be starting up a liftshare thread on here and hopefully you'll find someone through that. It would also be a very good idea to sign up to http://www.liftshare.org/uk/comstart.asp

And finally, I've changed the title of your thread to something that tells other readers what it's about. ;)
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

If you have any useless mates who are still dithering about coming to Glade, show them this article: http://www.ravetalk.co.uk/glade-festival-2009.shtml

I have little doubt if you post on here around June time (or early July) there will be people offerring car shares.

Otherwise, if you get to Cardiff, then its Cardiff > Bristol Temple MEads > Reading > Thatcham > on the train

Resturn ticket Thursday > Monday would be just under 45 quid. Or less if you have a railcard!

There's a free shuttle bus from Thatcham to Glade running all weekend.

Are you sure it's free? People have had to pay a few quid in each previous year (dunno for sure myself, as I've never taken it, but others have said they charge for it).

OK, I thought it was free in 04 but I could be wrong about that and I haven't paid much attention since as I've always driven down.
