The Centrifuge guys are putting on some cracking nights at Moog bar (check out the acid BBQ this Sunday), and then there's Lobotomy at Blueprint for the hard stuff (and Rigor Mortis for the really, really hard stuff but I haven't made it to one of their events yet).

Detonate is ok, bit too chavy, any place they wave a metal detecting wand over you to get in is a little
Spectrum is a wicked night at stealth, they have had some awesome line ups.
Blueprint is wicked, they have good nights on every week, always forget to go though. My fave night there is Demo, always has a wide variety of music and stuff, plus money goes to charities which is nice.
Moog is pretty cool, previously my local and hopeful soon to be again, my mates have a night there once every so often.
Plus loads more cool stuff I can't be arsed to write about.

BF

And random nights with decent lineups.

I like Fabric, if its a good lineup and the crowds decent, its a good night.

I also like popping t the end for liquid DnB on Wednesday!

shakyjane wrote:oh, well in Edinburgh it would be the Bass Syndicate nights. I'm not sure if they're doing them anymore now, but possibly one of the best nights I've ever been to was a night in the Liquid Rooms with Plump DJ's. Went with Chopper. The warm up DJ's were sick. The volume was so LOUD you could feel the bass vibrate through your whole body. And the Plumps played the best set I've heard them play ever. Plus the liquid rooms are very nice. Feeling the bass through the balcony area was awesome. And if i'm remembering the night well they had a nice little beer garden to go and smoke in. They don't really do nights regularly though :(

They've also had Tayo & Aquaksy on that I can remember in a different club called the Bongo club which is pretty cool.

I should highlight though that this is one night out of 4 breaks options in Scotland.

Ive Heard AUDACIOUS @ the bongo club in edinburgh is the nutts! Playin DnB, Jungle, Breakcore & Hostile beats & have had the likes of Beatwife, Pisstank, Murderbot, The Doubtful Guest, Charly Lynch & Babyshaker!

London has LOADS of interesting nights! I love Bangface to bits, but if you think it's the only option then you've not been looking hard enough...

Bangface (obviously!)

Braindrop

FWD>>

Bukkake (2nd Wednesday of the month at Madame Jojos)

Random Rephlex Records/Planet Mu nights at places like Corsica Studios and Hearn St Car Park. - there seems to be one for each label about every quarter and they're always killer lineups.

Yardcore - Haven't seen one advertised recently... has it died?

Make sure you pick up the fliers next time you're in Electrowerkz (not the ones given outside the door!). There's always loads of interesting stuff around! London's brill!

Portsmouth is slowly getting better and almost at that dangerous stage where there is something good on every weekend which is surely gonna be the death of me and my poor brain... in a good way...

KISS MY BASS for breaks and electro
UGLY BEATS for breakcore, gabba and all-round ravey goodness
10TON for dubstep
BREAKNECK for dnb

If you live in or around portsmouth or are ever heading down for some foolish reason then check out the KISS MY BASS and UGLY BEATS facebook groups for info on whats going down. Usually something big!

There are no good club nights in Bedford. The closest you get to "good" is really chavvy DnB :(

Milton Keynes is pretty shit for anything other than commerical dance or hip hop nights.

Northampton isn't too bad, as there's a few hardcore/oldskool nights there, and there's a couple nights in Bedford, but Milton Keynes has got pretty much jack shit, mostly because the clubs won't let any non-commercial nights really have a go at doing much. The closest we got to a decent dance club was Nexus, but that's pretty much shut up shop to.

At Revolutions (a cocktail bar type place) once a month they have BeatCheck, a breaks night, but apart from that, nada.
By the time you've read this message it's too late to stop reading it.

Bristol has endless nites that r worth going to, theres often to much to do, but with that comes its fair share of absolutely painfully wank nites. but some big ones are:
Toxic Dancehall (R.I.P now)
Bashout (TD replacement, now also R.I.P sadly)
Gener8r
Dissident
Drum Disciples
Agro
The Blast
Blowpop (sometimes, depends whos on)
Turbulence
Break!!!
Renegade Hardware
Therapy Sessions
Mongrel
Monkey!Knife!Fight!
Penguin Dance

thats all i can think of off the top of my head, but its a pretty gd start :)
We can dance if we want to. We can leave your friends behind.
Cos your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance, then they're no friends of mine.

This is the moment they've all been waiting for!.......

The only thing I like to go to except Bangface is a "I love the 90's and 80's night." Unfortunatley it falls on the 2nd friday of every month and whats even worse its at the Islington academy, which is like 5 minutes from the electrowerkz.

Basically the whole night is 90's Britpop in one room and 80's Ska and Indie in the other, its absolutley fantastic.

BANGFACE - all around breakage
UNIVERSITY OF DUB - basssss

In Brighton -

The Regime (gabba, breakcore, jungle, & whatever else general rave & filth...I may be biased as I run it but I'm sure others on here who have been will agree)
Erisian - (similar style - have been running for a while now & also well good) - next one 30th Jan w/ Panacea headlining.

The Regime & Erisian will be alternately running the first friday of each month @ The Volks, starting on feb. 6th - The Regime w/ DJ Producer, Remarc, DJ Floorclearer & loads more.

Wrong Music - obviously
Instrumentality
Square Roots - dubstep, etc.
Spirit of Gravity - not so much a club night but usually really interesting.

All of these are well worth going to if you get chance.

Yeah in Brighton Erisian and The Regime got the brakecore and gabber front held down nicely. But its always good to go to Dubpressure for the best dubstep and playgroup for some live bands and acts. O and autopsy for some dark DnB but that's a bit more grimy.

Frog itself ended a couple of years ago, and - even more serious than that - the venue it was in has been shut down to make way for Crossrail!

I used to go there most weeks back in the day. It was a great place to see bands that were on the verge of being big.

EDIT: I just looked online and it seems like that '90s night at the Islington Academy is on the third Friday of the month, not the second!

Digital Harlot at Soundhaus and Optimo at Sub Club in Glasgow. just about the only vaguely "dance" nights in the city with fewer than one stabbings per night. :/
