Hi,

I wasn't supposed to go... but a friend asked me to drop her there on friday, managed to get a ticket at £50 from friend of a friend having stall (and he has LOTS of them to sale/give away). And by the time I reached the entrance I get offered wristbands at least 5 times. So I suspect there was 3000 wristbands around but clearly no all on the dance floor. Friday night the only crowded stage was the psytence one, with a lineup with nothing in common with the one published on the web site (lots of main acts cancelled without notice). The sounds in the tent after 11pm was ridiculous. I was talking with firends (at a normal level) at about 2m of the speakers.... gave up, gone home (at to be there early moring anyway).

Went back saturday afternoon, got the tickets so why not give it another go. Once again line-up *not exactly* (lol) the one on web site. A bit more people, maybe they finally reach 3000 but I seriously doubt it. Outdoor psytrance stage quite busy, the rest (except maybe one other tent) were nearly empty (between 10 and 50 people, hardly crowded!). The public was also VERY young (18 age restriction ????).

Left saturday around midnight (had another trance party planned), didn't went back on sunday (hopefully -> noon stop). I should get more details on that later.

I suspect that antiworld reputation (especially about not paying artist) won't get any better after this.... but anyway, it was a good try, maybe a bit too ambitious for a first-timer (I suspect they wanted to be as good, as big as Glade). I was quite shocked about the number of ticket sales as it has been nearly impossible to leave any clubs, party or anything without getting a flyer for the last 3/4 months.

Another problem was the proximity of the tents/stage, during the day there was clearly sound cross over from one to another (maily psy-trance and main tent, about about 10m between them....)

If they put it up again next year, I'll probably go back, but clearly not at £100....

See you at Glade (on the psy-trance stage, on the right, in front of DJ ;-) )

Little cnut looked like Jack Osbourne, at first i thought he was decorating the boards for the Ninja stuff until i actually saw his "art" - he was certainly no Fab Five Freddy :?

Appreciated. Would be in bad taste if people started to gloat about other peoples bad luck wouldn't it eh?

I'm not gloating... but quite frankly, this is no surprise given Antiworld's past history.

I get the feeling anti-world should have tried to walk before they can run.
the line up did look fantastic, and had i not been moving house i would have definitely been there.
It would be good if it was a 3,000 capacity festival. that would be such good fun, shame they tried to stretch themselves to much.
I know anti-world has a bad reputation in some circles, but i always though they had a hardened following, at least one large enough to hit 10,000.
bring on the glade, and muchos respect to those that make the wonderful diverse festival happen, its obviously hard work, as anti-world has proved.
Er....No

What do you mean about their past history?
Haven't been to one for ages but I've had a lot of really good nights at antiworld events.

well, no, not really. i mean, just the flyer itself looked unreal. people must be naiive or have huge expectations or just plain thick to not realise it's a case of throw enough mud & see if any will stick. hype is just hype.

@ stephane

yeah there were kids, not older kids though, unless you were reffering to the whole crowd, who seemed alot older than i'd expect, even compared to glade (pre 2005). i suspect some of the kids were with the crew.

it's a real shame, i would've thought that'd be antiworld who would put all their favourite psy acts into rock stardom & convert mainstream clubbers into a different scene. they should've started this off small, with a little (carefully chosen) sponsorship.

the site looked great from photos but once on it it was like landing on the moon. strangely, as most of the stewards disappeared & security was low-key, punters were pretty much left to their own devices but overall everyone were chilled despite some performance cancellations. i actually felt ALOT safer here than at last years glade.

I'm looking for a DJ, if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. He played in the progressive tent from 7.30 to 9.00 on the sunday morning, and he played a blinding set of progressive trance, starting with that classic that goes "first there was darkness... then came strangers" from Dark City.

He was advertised as Otezuka, but the pics on the net look nothing like him, or any of the djs supposedly on that night. He had glasses and a shaved head.
