What's gone wrong with Antiworld?

Postby evil999 » 07 Jul 2007, 23:16

My mates have come home early and disgruntled. All i got out of them was 'the absolute biggest pile of shit ever'.

Searchin on the net seems like a lot of the acts were cancelled. Anyone shed any light on the subject?

Wow! :o

This is news to me, first I've heard about it. Hardly a good way to launch a new event!
Top one. Nice one. Get sorted.

Harsh man. I am glad i didn't go in the end then....
I have only ever been wrong once and that was this one time when I thought I was wrong, and then it turned out that I wasn't.

There was an advert on their site as late as Thursday morning saying:.....
"See http://www.777festival.com for more info and last minute ticket sales, or simply turn up at the gate with cash and avoid paying any booking fee."

That wouldn't have given me much confidence if I was going.

Yeah, it is really nasty isn't it. The music and voice over make it sound like some uber shite commercial Radio 1 style festival, which from what i have heard about Anti world is probably not that far from what it is...

It was a complete f**king disaster. Only about 3000 tikets sold. There was no info about anything, even the promoters of some of the smaller stages didn't have a clue what was going on. Apparently all the Hommega artists played for free! Other stages had to cancel over 20 acts. Green Velvet and Adam Beyer made it as far as their hotels only to be told that there was no money to pay them. Worst of all was that posters were put up each day with the complete lineup on even though the organisers knew thay had no money to pay any of the djs. The sound was totally shocking after 12. Not just quiet but going up and down like a yoyo. The decor for the main Trance stage was also rubbish. The only plus points were the weather and the state of the toilets. Thank god I still got glade tickets! Bring it on......

Christ on a bike, that's a major scandal.

One to contact the press on, in all honesty. If they'd only sold 3,000 tix, they should have cancelled or at least explained the circumstances and given people the choice of still going or taking a refund. No excuses.
