What was the best Glade year of all? (re-vote)

Some veterans insist the first year has never been beaten, others say 2005 had it just right, yet some even favoured 2007's mudbath.

Which was the best Glade ever for you?

2006/2007 were almost 2 totally different festivals due to the weather, but 2007 ppl seemed to have more fun and be more up for it...last year ppl monged out and lazed about in the sun for 4 days..the overkill tent for jimmy edgar on sunday last year was really dead...loadsa ppl...but no energy....sunday at the overkill tent this year for scotch egg, clark etcwas totally bouncin....those who werent totally floooded out seemed to have a good laugh moreso than last year

Dint go to 04, so can't say.
I thought this year was the most mental, cos people were making up for the weather and mud by just going for it big time. However, the lovely sunshine and free mushrooms of 2005 probably swing it for me.
I actually voted for 2007, though, as I thought the organisers really did so well to have such an amazing line-up AND keep the festival going in such adverse conditions.

2004 every time for me because it was so intimate,new,fresh. They have all been great in different ways. 2006 weather was fantastic. 2005 free mushies being given away before midnight before the shit law change. 2007 the music was much better for me personally but the weather can fuck off though. Except for this year i have started having a bit of trouble working out which act i saw and what year now

For me it's a close run thing between 04 and 07 but I think 07 gets it. 04 was fantastic, really small and great vibe but that was easy to achieve with the weather we had. This year the vibe was easily as good but with the adverse weather conditions we all faced that has to be more of an achievement.

Must have been so distressing in 2006 to be in the sun. Let's hope next year the whole thing gets rained off in a 5 day storm so we can all say "it didn't run but still it was the best EVER, far better than 2007". Then in 2009 don't host it at all - the best possible experience can be had by not going but paying for a ticket so you can just imagine how good it would have been had their been a festival.

So it sucked as much as it was possible to suck and then just stopped raining in time for them to decide "we ought to cancel but that would ruin our profits - well this bunch of muppets won't mind - no matter how bad it is we'll just say - ah well the conditions brought everyone together". How can anyone say this was anything other than rancid? - the conditions were so bad that not even loads of drugs could make it not depressing.

I had a fucking great time and so did loads of other people. Then again I was armed with a kagool, waterproof troosers and wellies, so the weather can go fuck itself up the arse.

Most people I bumped into also seemed to be having it as well.

I can't imagine any sane person claiming it was better than it would have been if hot and sunny, but I think most people really did have a top time despite the shite conditions.

Having saif that, you obviously didn't and this is certainly the forum to shout about it...!

hmmm ... this years, just cos I know so many more people, and last year it was me a one of my best mates, which was great, and a few others , and I really didnt know what to expect so I wasnt prepared even though I was blown away and thought about it every day till this years ... I always think the 2nd year is better cos you know how it is gonna be so you can prepare yourself better, plus the first year was my first ever festival so I was wet behinds the ears ... the first year also opened my eyers to so much more music, so when this year came around I was looking forward to the music side of it so much more ..... I aint one to bitch about rain, and yes I got trench foot, but who really gives a shit ....

for me , the first was a eye operner and learning curve, so when the 2nd time came round I enjoyed it to the max , and gave away loads of free cuddles to people ...

2006 was the best for me. 2005 had the "OMG THIS IS AWEEEESOME!" newbie factor, but 2006 had the bangface evening, rowland the bastard, and loads of extra stuff, plus the weather was even more glorious (I it when it's hot).

This year was the worst by quite a long way, I hate bad weather and didn't have wellies and the shop had sold out, and getting anywhere was a mission and a half, and I just couldn't get into it. I'd have rather saved the money and not gone, tbh, and I was suprised at how much the weather affected my enjoyment (I was home by lunchtime saturday). I'm probably even gonna get my ticket late notice next year while I wait and see what the weather will do.

well i had a chest infection and hardcore jetlag at glade. while i was there i broke my phone and camera due to mud and lost some money, and spent loads too. oh and i got trench foot. but it was still a fucking AMAZING WEEKEND, WORTH EVERY SECOND AND PENNY. why? cos it was full of the right people, the right tunes (appart from the pubstep stint on saturday) right food and right vibe. i thoguht the mud was quite fun once i got the knack of staying warm and dry down. was the most memorable weekend ive had in a long time, the fucking elation of dancing in a river of mud during friday nighrs bangface, throwing abou muddy skeletons and generaly throwing mud about will live on forever.
