Rumours of the Liquid Stage’s demise are greatly exaggerated, it seems.

GladTalk has had first sight of an official press release setting out the Glade’s position on the Liquid Stage. And this release states unequivocally that the Liquid Stage will still be very much part of Glade 2008.

The press release reads as follows:

Hello Glade crew.

Just a quick note to clear up some confusion that sprung up over the weekend regarding the Liquid Stage at this year’s festival.

It seems that an internal email from us somehow got into the public domain and got misinterpreted. The result of this has been that some people now believe that the Liquid Stage is not going to be at this year’s Glade.

Nothing could be further from the truth !

Our intention was to make some savings in this difficult year and cut back on costs where possible. As far as Liquid is concerned this included options such as downscaling the venue, re- arranging the odd set time and moving the venue back into the centre of site where it used to be in previous years.

At no point was it our intention to cancel any of the acts due to play on Liquid. We appreciate all the work that the Liquid crew do and are as excited as anyone about a lot of the acts that they have playing this year.

We are happy to confirm that the Liquid Stage will still be at the festival and all the acts they have confirmed will be playing as expected.

We are consolidating our position in keeping with reducing the capacity of the overall event and ticket sales are well on course for hitting this target.

Looking forward to another fine festival !
